Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Programs

Altus Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu strives to create a safe, nurturing, and positive atmosphere where our students, no matter what their age, gender, or physical capabilities may be, will increase not only their ability to defend themselves, but also their mental focus, levels of self-confidence & self-discipline, and overall fitness (body, mind, and spirit). Our kid’s jiu-jitsu programs help give students tools to help defend themselves and keep safe in difficult situations. They will learn body awareness along with techniques for self-defense and competition, with an emphasis on positional drills, control, and character building.

Teen/Adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Our teen/adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) program focuses on giving our students a foundation of principles that will allow them to have a general understanding of the sport of jiu-jitsu as well as the comfort of knowing how to deal with very common street scenarios anyone can face. Instruction, repetition of technique, feedback, and live training leads our students to retain these principles. In addition to learning grappling and self-defense, jiu-jitsu will help improve your overall physical fitness, help you build endurance and strength as well as lose weight. Overall, students have more confidence, focus, and general well-being.

Women's Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Our women’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program empowers women, builds strength through adversity, and prepares students for actual, self-defense situations. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a unique form of martial arts that teaches students to leverage their body weight to use on the mat or against an attacker. Learn to create leverage for escapes, as well as submissions to subdue a potential attacker – regardless of size. Jiu Jitsu is also one of the most complete forms of exercise. You’ll notice increases in strength, endurance, flexibility, stress reduction, and fat burning from the very start.

Kid's Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Our kid’s programs introduce young students to the martial art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. In this process, we help our students develop several physical and personal skills. Among these skills are, flexibility, muscle strength, coordination, and a full set of self-defense techniques. These physical skills lead to developing confidence and self-discipline in our students. With these skills, the student is aware that they have the ability to restrain themselves and at the same time are aware that they can apply the techniques learned at our academy to protect themselves should the need arise.
